If, after a few years, you decide to move to a regular pillow, you may continue to use the outer cover from My First Pillow on a standard pillow, just as you would a regular pillowcase.

My First Pillow is designed for toodlers to use as their first pillows unlike other toddler pillows it fits in a full size standard pillow case.
As always, I would look at your child and their sleep environment, rather than focusing only on age.
Something I would like to gently share is that this is not always a strict transition.
We have many adult clients, readers and friends who use My First Pillow well beyond childhood. Some even take it on holiday with them because they find they cannot sleep on anything else.
We often hear from families needing a replacement for this reason.
Sleep is very personal, and what feels right for one child may be different for another.
So while My First Pillow is designed as the first step, it is also perfectly okay for your child to continue using it if they are comfortable and sleeping well.
For some, My First or My Second Pillow becomes something they use for many years, even into adulthood.
It is always about what feels right for your child.
As always, prevention is better than the cure.
Many clients, readers and friends who have introduced the Save Our Sleep My First Pillow say their little one begins to sleep more settled, often staying on their back and in the same position throughout the night.
If your little one is over 24 months and not trying to climb out, My First Pillow may be introduced as a safe and supportive option.
If they are younger, or showing signs of trying to climb out of the cot, I would recommend waiting before introducing a pillow to keep them safe.

I just wanted to give you little update on our girl and her new pillow. I know you thought she might be too young for pillow, but we gave her the pillow as soon as it arrived and she suddenly slept on her back and all night no waking (its been now 2 nights like that). She is now refusing to wake up from her nap literally cuddling with the pillow.
We also tried your suggested 1 TOG and 16 layer blankets and she woke up instantly. It was hot in the house that day so she was only in sleeping bag to fall asleep. We put 1 blanket on her little bit later, she slept fine. Before we went to bed we put another 3 blankets and she woke up in 10 minutes not happy. We were shocked. That was the night before we received your pillow.
Feels like she swapped blankets for pillow, how interesting change.
I only thought to send you this since you are so invested in sleep as a little case study.

We ordered ?my first pillow? for my 4yo when he moved to his big bed. It?s perfect as it?s nice and low / flat so it?s a nice in between pillow. To go from no pillow at all in the cot, to a regular pillow would be a big change. I would also think a regular pillow Would hurt their neck!!

Hi Tizzie, I would like to thank you firstly for your life saving book, Save our Sleep! I have followed through with all of your routines for both my children. At first I wasn’t to sure about your products and thought that this was just another ?baby item? us mums got sucked in to buy. After having wasted so much money on so many unnecessary products, I was finally convinced at trying your bedding products. I fell in love! When I say I fell in love, I fell in love with the fact that your products started resolving sleep issues that I was dealing with such as sweating, baby being cold, night waking’s and not feeling secure.
